"We will build the wall as sure as you are standing there tonight. We need the wall" Well, while I've just come back from a week in Venice (late Friday night), spending ages queuing for the ePassport system that allegedly makes thing simpler (but actually not really) Trump's been shouting about the USA/Mexico wall he wants. Don't get me wrong. Venice was beautiful. Certainly better looking than Trump. OK, he does feature on covers of Time magazine more often than Venice (or me and my 'Deprivations' novel for that matter!) but there is a connection. Venice IS concerned about the effects of "global warming". Here's quote from Peter Walker of The Independent newspaper:
I know Trump won't care because he'll be dead by that time. But his (grand)children won't be. My novel is a warning of where we could be going. As Trump wants America to be "great again" (it always was and still is) his country is going down the route of the giant City in my novel. Divorced from Outside but... Global warming is already making its footprints. Yes I agree with him that other countries need to do more. But he's wrong when Trump said,
The evidence of global climate change is getting more and more obvious. Yes other countries need to do more (Korea is one - you put your health at risk if you go there!). But if America does more in its country it'll help the world. Let the others learn and catch up. You tidy your own garden your neighbours will see and learn. They'll want their garden to be as nice as yours. It'll take time but our time is running out... My 'Deprivations' novel can be purchased from Amazon worldwide. Here's a UK link:
