I don't know how to start this which is ironic considering this is my author blog.
Well, actually that's often how writing starts. You start off having a vague idea and then it flows...
Sometimes you get distracted - life has a habit of doing that. I remember several years back when I had writer's block for the lyrics of a song I was co-writing.
Fortunately I'd written pages and pages of poetry over the years. So I found lyrics. Now was the minor part (NOT minor) of singing those words I hadn't written for music.
The other thing is writing what you know or see.
So what am I seeing now? My step daughter watching 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' on TV.
Now vampires are NOT what I want to write about. Let's face it there's been SO much written about them and shown on TV and in movies.
There's been bad vampires, good ones, love sick ones etc etc etc.
Yes I'll admit I've got fond memories of Ann Rice's book 'Interview With The Vampire' and the film. (Let's face it Tom Cruise was excellent as the vampire Lestat.)
Anyway. My step daughter's still watching Buffy.
Don't get me onto Doctor Who...
